Hello everyone!

It is past time that I update this post of 'more about me'.  It is a LONG story (as are my birthyears) but I will try to shorten the stories (as I do with my birthyears).

I am of the 'Babyboomer' era.  I was raised by a very strict Grandmother, who lived on a 'fixed' income.  I remember thinking, (when she would tell me that) if it's fixed, why does it seem like it is always 'broke'?  She also protected me like a fierce Momma Bear.  So, I was knieve about a lot of things for many years.  Fearful  of many things as well.  Yet, I never really felt 'Poor'!  I did get plenty of hugs, butterfly kisses, and snuggles anytime I wanted them....or so it seemed.   

It is the things that my Grandmother taught me about life, that has helped me to be the strong, resourceful person I am today.  If I could change anything, it would be the little voice that sat on my shoulder telling me everytime I felt deprived, that "When I have children" they were going to have so much MORE than I did!

Many of us 'BabyBoomers' felt that way.  We are now having to deal with the results of our excesses.  Our pampered children who don't know how to live with less and they want even 'More".....for Their children...OUR Grandchildren.

 in response to anglhrt48...   It is always so good to hear and get big hugs from you Linda anglhrt48. You will always be special to me. How have you been doing for so long now? I have about two more visits to dentist and I will have NEW TEETH, Finally! I was driven to novato where my upper implant had to be pulled, and grouted out! Did not feel good this year? I sure hope so. I wish and pray for you to be blessed this year. Big Hugs and happy thoughts!...Your friend, Sandav1

 in response to Sandav1...   Hi again. And there is something missing here the regulars who use to be here a lot have found some work, taking care of family or trying to find work to survive..Things change but the site is always upgrading itself to make it easy to use..
have a good night and feel better my energies aren't that great..or I would go clean a house for a living..I mean it...

I am so sorry. My Sunny had been sick throwing up food but not ever not wanting to eat. and about IAMS they just removed another pet food of theirs off the shelf. I really think like a homeopathic lady does feed it raw diet and you make the food yourself. I would have to look into that kind of diet.. and it is hard disease or any that takes pets lives and even  giving your pet a flea collar can harm them. so I opt for the stuff from pet meds..

This has made me question my cat's vet etc...It does affect one and a member here lost their dog to kidney failure and you bawl like a baby.. it is hard to watch a pet healthy go to not healthy fast. and the treatment not work..It is just hard. Kidney failure is hard one can't ever get better..

Well I have to hit the sack and it is late..

Our cat was 10 human years, but was in great health. Then he got sick & did the same things Sunny was doing. We took him to vet & had ex-rays & blood test done. His stomach was huge, but nothing out of the ordinary with ex-rays. The vet told us he could do a look see surgery but, with the news of the cat food recall...it would cost $4,000. + That was soooo hard to let that be a factor. We bought him iams, only it was from Walmart! It was on the list. My daughter (15) myself & hubby were there with him. My hubby is a big guy and he held him & sobbed. He hasn't been the same since! That was Three or Four years ago. As I said, it effected us all.

 in response to Sandav1...   Thank you. It was hard just watching a vet muck up by not doing blood work the first time asap..The vet should have caught it the first time. Kidney failure always reduces the quality of life. And you need to watch the creatine levels and know when to call it quits for the cat. His levels were really the second time when I got the blood work back but the iv treatments lowered them but it didn't last...the treatment. Many cat foods out there is still being recalled as another and I were talking about today..My cat need to be put to sleep it wasn't fair to him to keep him alive anymore his body had it damaged kidney and small one with kidney stone which would have to be surgically removed..and required special food too if we got the kidneys under control..
I have t call people Monday for many things to put food etc for sale . Somethings stay not much.. I don't want another cat right away.. I looked at some one not far from here. Sunny knew he was loved ....It is just a big shock and I know many now who lost a cat to this disease and even dogs..

I'm so sorry about Sunny, Patti. I know how much you love him. I know how hard it is to make those kind of decisions. I still miss our cat we lost just like you did ! It changed our whole family. We have a different cat now that we adopted from the online adoption for Bengal cats. We love her and she has her own personality, but she is different than he was. My prayers and thoughts are with you Patti.

 in response to Sandav1...   At least you are getting it taken care of..Sunny my cat I had to put to sleep on 9/22/10 as he had kidney disease and kidney stone and first vet treatment helped but second one didn't last but a little more than a week so he stopped eating, drinking and was hiding so put him to sleep - no more pain....

 in response to Starshine...   I am up and down. Doc says it will take a long time to get my labs back up to where I feel human again! I have another dental apptmt. on Oct. 1st. Little by little I am getting it resolved! I am happy that I got rid of some of the dental pain! That is a BIG relief! Hope everyone is well here! It seems like there is something missing here on aidpage. Just me.....or is there something to miss? Talk more as my energy replaces itself. Take care everyone and thanks for the high fives!  in response to Starshine...   I'm home now.  But I am pretty weak and sore.  Thanks for your good wishes.  I can't talk for a while.  I am FINALLY rid of all the bottom roots.  They left the good teeth that will be used as anchors.  I could sure use some good luck for a change!
